My photo
Stacy has always had a passion for children, family and friends. During her teenage years there were two things you could count on seeing with her, one was a baby or child and the other her camera. Stacy enjoyed and treasured each and every moment she spent with other people’s children. However, her journey really began after she had her own two little ones. Over the years as they grew and became more active in sports and school she began to follow her passion further. After request from friends & family, Stacy decided to pursue her passion and created SNL Photography. “It is my desire that you will be delighted with the passion and time that I take to capture your individuality.” Stacy

A Gift | Northern Virginia Photographer

My gift! My last blog post I talked about Giving is Awesome and asked you to write in and nominate a family you felt deserved a year round reminder of their family's spirit, love and beauty. Well I am happy to announce that I have selected a WINNER for my Giving is Awesome Giveaway!

The family nominated are sisters, they loss their mom due to complications from asthma. "M" the oldest sister quickly stepped in to-be "mom" to her younger sister "J" who is now a single mom of a 2 year old. They are taking it one day at a time and keeping in mind that family is what is most important to them. This story touches my heart for many reasons. Those that know me personally know that my son has asthma and I understand completely how scary that illness is. The economy hasn't been kind to a lot of people. They have overcome an unimaginable loss. Here are some of the closing words used in this family nomination letter.

"They have had an incredibly challenging year and "J" has managed to stay positive and persevere. I think she needs to feel like she's worth it. I don't know if she owns her own camera but I'm sure she has never had the opportunity have professional pictures done and she may never have that opportunity. Kids are only young once and at a time in her life when she barely has a possession to her name, it would be nice to have something that would last a lifetime to remember these young years by."

I can't wait to meet this wonderful family!

As the year comes to an end I would like to take this time to thank all my clients, friends and family. Thank you for your support and for making my first official year in business a rewarding one. I am so blessed to have you all in my life. It brings me great joy to be able to provide you with lifetime memories through my photography. I look forward to 2009 and making new friends!

I can't go without sharing a couple of pictures... Over the holiday's I got to spend sometime with my niece she is just about 4 months old and has the most gorgeous lips ever! What out Angelina!

Happy New Year everyone! Please be safe and I'll see you in 2009!

Giving is Awesome! | Northern Virginia Photographer

You know someone. You know someone who's experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can't afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family's spirit, love, and beauty.

You know someone. I guarantee it.

I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography -- $1500 worth, to be exact. They will receive my top digital collection that includes prints, it's in your power to give them the artwork they deserve this holiday season.

Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives a $500 credit towards my middle Collection. What better reason to show some love could there possibly be, people?

The rules:

* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a two-million-dollar-vacation-home in Paris does not qualify as sincere financial need.)

* The nominee must reside in Virginia, Maryland, Charles Town, WV or Dover DE. Tell me who you know, what they're experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.

* You must e-mail me the full story : snlprophoto@gmail.com

The winner will be announced on Christmas Eve -- get nominating! I can't wait to read all of your entries!

Open your heart to someone this holiday season -- and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.

I can't leave without sharing a picture so check out the images I was able to get of my children. I wish my son would let me take his picture more often but mommy promised not to bug him again until his birthday if he did these. I'm so glad he agreed!

With love,

Stacy
